3 Day Falconry Course (Practical)
The 3 day falconry course is designed for adults who want a structured and practical introduction to falconry over multiple days. This course provides progressive learning, allowing participants to build confidence and understanding through repeated hands on sessions.
Practical, Hands on Training
This 3 day falconry course focuses on direct involvement with birds of prey, including safe handling, flying to the glove and basic training techniques. Participants work closely with experienced falconers to develop practical skills rather than simply observing demonstrations.
Location and Licensed Falconry Centre
The course is delivered at Mercer Falconry Raptor Park within Robin Hoods Wheelgate Park in Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire. As a zoo licensed facility, the centre meets regulated welfare and education standards, providing an appropriate setting for structured falconry training.
Learning Experience
Across the three days, participants learn about species differences, behaviour, welfare and daily management while working with a variety of birds of prey. There are opportunities to observe flying sessions closely and take photographs during appropriate moments throughout the course.

The site offers free on site parking, accessible pathways and clean toilet facilities. Cafes within the park provide drinks and refreshments, making attendance across multiple days comfortable and easy to manage.
5 Day Falconry Course (Theory & Practical)
The 5 Day falconry Course combines theory and practical learning for those seeking a comprehensive introduction to falconry. This structured program is designed for adults who want a deeper understanding of caring for a bird of prey across 5 days.
Practical, Hands on Training
The practical elements of the 5 day falconry course focus on handling birds on the glove, flying exercises and safe working techniques. Participants gain repeated hands on experience under close supervision, building confidence and consistency when working with birds of prey.
